Are there any moderates out there?

i notice that mostly everyone is either republican or democrat..but i wonder if anyone thinks for themselves..i mean many people almost seem to make up their mind on an issue based on their political affiliation..is anyone left who is liberal in some scenarios, and conservative on other scenarios? I am liberal when it comes to health care because I think everyone should be born with a right to seek treatment when ill..however, i am conservative on gun laws because i believe americans should be entitled to purchase firearms.. it seems foolish to be completely republican or completely democrat...i could understand if you are a robot or just plain mindless..why can i find no one who is somewhere in the middle
