Why do people care about the royal wedding?

I mean the reason people are so lame is because they spend their time idolizing other people in no pursuit to make theirs better. And these people didn't even do anything worth idolization, they were luckily born into a famous family, whoopdido, I'd rather idolize like, idk Steve Jobs or someone with actual talent or praiseworthy abilities or intellect that actually make my life better. And don't even get me started on how being born into a family gives you some (SOME) control over an entire country.
