How to get rid of the Stupid Pacifier?

So i made a hug mistake with my first, i have gave her a pacifier and to make it worse the hospital got her hooked on the little green one that at the time u had to still order them online. Needless to say my daughter is now 2 years old and i cant get rid of it we have done pretty good during the day when she is not at the babysitter but at night she will not go to sleep without it what i have noticed is that she just has it in her mouth until she falls asleep and then usually spits it back out unless she get restless in the night and she might pop it back in for awhile. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this thing?
