Is this video card compatible with my motherboard and is it enough to play GTA San Andreas on Max settings?

Given the current bid is $0.99, probably worth attempting to run it. In general, the NVIDIA gaming for the GeForce cards starts with cards that end in a 600 or higher (5600, 6600, 7600, etc...). Since you have an AGP, I'd recommend one of the NVIDIA 6800 GT cards that show bids from about $2 and up. The 6800 GT will perform much better than the 5500 card
